Crackle crazy at the drugstores

The latest craze in nailpolish has been the OPI shatter polishes and China Glaze Crackle polish. Many of you may have experienced a tough time getting your hands on the original black shatter from OPI or the Crackle from China Glaze. Well look out now...Sally Hansen has come out with their own!

I spotted these in my local CVS and it's also sold at Walgreens and Ulta. I was so excited to see more colors other than the traditional black, red, white and silver. I already have the OPI Shatter in black, red and silver. I also have the China Glaze Crackle colors in Crushed Candy and Lightening Bolt.

So I decided to buy the SH Crackle overcoat in Distressed Denim. I was so excited only to find that it went on quite watery compared to OPI and China Glaze. The brush was quite small, which made it harder to apply a thick enough layer. As you know with any of the Shatter or Crackle polishes, you can't do layers. While the bottle and packaging is cute, the color options are great, the SH Crackle has small, flimsy brush and thin, watery consistency. This makes it difficult to put on the perfect coat. I tried different ways to see what the outcome would be. (This is without a topcoat).

I wouldn't say I LOVE this polish, but it works. It does what it's supposed to do. For $6.99, it's not a total loss. Maybe I can play around with it more.

Have you tried Sally Hansen's Crackle Overcoat? What do you think of it?
