All About Cornhole

Cornhole is a game which has been played for centuries. It is one of the most popular games to play at places like children's birthday parties and carnivals due to its simplicity and innocence.

All one really needs to play cornhole are two sheets of wood with a hole cut in one end and some small bean bags. The wood sheets should be angled at approximately 45 degrees. The beanbags can either be homemade or purchased online or in-stores. There are many places online to shop if someone is wondering where to buy cornhole bags. The wood sheets may be painted or designed in any manner that one sees fit.

To play the game, the wood sheets are placed at opposite ends of the playing area. While no length is technically specified, the average length of space between wood sheets is 15 to 20 feet. The competition takes place between either two players or two teams. Each individual will take turns tossing the bean bags into the hole in the farthest wood sheet from them. A player is awarded 3 points for a successful toss into the hole. A player is awarded 1 point if the bean bag misses the hole but remains on the wood platform. No points are awarded if the bean bag misses the platform or if it hits the platform and falls off.

The game continues until a team's score reaches 21. While the game of cornhole is typically played on a lawn, it can be played anywhere there is sufficient space to move and toss the bean bags.

Cornhole is a wonderful game that is legendary and bringing the whole family together for good clean fun. It remains as popular as ever due to the fact it can be played at any function where it is desired. In fact, the game has become so popular among devotees that there are even national championships which take place on an internationally known cable sports network. This is a grand testament to the enduring legacy which the simple game of cornhole has developed over the many years of play.
